I have been a self-taught natural musician for my whole life. I
play mainly by ear and imitation. Though now I can "read" music enough to
know what note corresponds to which key (with much time). I love to play classical,
and ragtime. I know many Bach, Beethoven, and Chopin pieces, as well as about a
dozen of Scott Joplins Rags. I'm most fond of Bachs inventions, Beethovens sonatas,
and Chopins waltzes. I spent over a month learning the first movement of Beethovens
"Pathetique" sonata, but I felt it was worth the effort. The complexity
just drove me to it. The first piano piece I actually learned was the first movement
of Beethovens "Moonlight" sonata, which I learned entirely be ear. This is
just another hobby I can highly recommend to anyone who finds music, and sound
fascinating. About 3 years ago I recorded a CD myself with my Yamaha Clavinova Digital Piano and gave it to mainly family as Christmas Presents. Here are the tracks from the CD if anyone is interested: 01 Chopin - Grand Waltz.mp3 02 Winston - Thanksgiving.mp3 03 Chopin - C Sharp Minor Waltz.mp3 04 Joplin - The Entertainer.mp3 05 Bach - Invention 13.mp3 06 Beethoven - Pathetique 2nd Movement.mp3 07 Winston - Graceful Ghost.mp3 08 Joplin - Maple Leaf Rag.mp3 09 Chopin - Minute Waltz.mp3 10 Beethoven - Moonlight Sonata.mp3 11 Chopin - Raindrop Prelude.mp3 12 Joplin - Easy Winners.mp3 13 Beethoven - Fur Elise.mp3 14 Winston - Sea.mp3 |
